Finding out we were pregnant with twin was amazing… I remember our son, Cale, 5yrs old at the time came to the ultrasound…we were all in shock…he cut the air with a comment ‘Oh shit, 2 babies’!
We later found out they where boys, identical boys!!! We announced to our family and friend and everyone was over the moon for us… we where all super excited.
My pregnancy was smooth sailing untill 19 weeks gestation…to where we found our boys had grade 2 TTTS.
We kind of knew about TTTS but never thought it would happen to us… no it will never happen to us… I was unable to have laser surgery due to my membranes seperating from the uterus wall. I had 2 amniotic fluid reductions, draining 2.8 Litres each time.
At 23 weeks gestation November the 4th my nightmare came true. I gave birth to 2 beautiful sleeping boys, Mason and Blake Miller. This was the hardest day of my life, it was just Cale’s 6 birthday the day before.
I made a promise to Mason & Blake, that I would do everything in my power to help fight against TTTS, support other families and hopefully one day find a full cure.
